What a deal! Sedona Community Food Bank has a gas stove (and yes, it works!) which needs a new home! All you have to do is call us for details and arrange to pick it up. (If you can't pick it up, let us know - we'll see what we can do.) A donation to the food bank would, of course, be welcome, but not required. Call Cathleen or Dennis at 928-204-2808.

Dinner for Hope

Dinner for Hope

Description

We ask that you support Steps to Recovery this year with a donation to our 4th Annual Dinner for Hope Fundraising Event. Acceptable donations include, but are not limited to; art, sponsorship's, services, and retail items that we will use for our raffle, silent auctions, or live auctions. We are also looking for door prizes. In existence for over 4 years, Steps to Recovery Homes continues to strive to expand its program and offerings to the community.
The Dinner for Hope is an annual fundraising event that helps bring awareness to the substance abuse issues in our community. This event includes a First-Class Dinner, Musical Entertainment, Testimonies from graduates of our recovery program, Raffles, Door prizes, and Auction items.
Addiction affects everyone’s business, whether you have an employee not showing up for work, a hard time finding someone that can pass a drug test or someone stealing from you. This dilemma also affects our neighborhoods, our children and our schools.
Nationally only about 11 percent of individuals who meet the Substance Use Disorder criteria receive treatment. Mainly this is the result of no funding. This is where we come in and you can help. 90% of our clients come in with no money or family support. We take them off the streets and teach them how to be accountable, help them find new ways to live their lives, help them find work and return to their families. We put them to work right away to teach them job skills and help defer costs. Our program provides an opportunity for the individuals who fall through the cracks with no way to pay for the services they so desperately need. We believe that people really do want to change, but are lacking the guidance and environment to do so. Steps to Recovery Homes provides that safe structured environment.
To meet our mission and provide the best resources to our clients and our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to help support our cause. The long-term goal of Steps to Recovery Homes is to create a healthy, safe and structured environment for our clients, to help our community by giving people an opportunity to become productive members of society and lower the recidivism rates (refers to a person's relapse into criminal behavior) in the community. We are raising awareness about the addiction crisis and educating our communities about the solutions.
The Dinner will be held on March 24th, 2018 at the Hilton Sedona Resort in Sedona Arizona.

Tickets are $60. Please contact Steps to Recovery Homes at 928-649-0077 to purchase tickets or purchase online at www.stepstorecoveryhomes.org

Description

Sedona Kind would like to share a bit of information from Sedona Recycles. Keep this in mind as you get through this hot summer.

Sustainability is a word that seems to put people on the defensive, but it simply means to meet present needs without harming future generations’ ability to do the same. Education for Sustainability is the learning process that brings awareness of these issues and teaches responsibility, both on an individual and corporate level, for our impact on the natural resources on which we depend.

The Sedona Recycle Center is at the end of Shelby Rd. Go for an exploration visit and see all that they do for our community.

Description

Flu and cold season arrived with the new year, spreading disease quickly through our ranks. Wash your hands and cover your sneezes - you sure don't want to infect anyone else. One highly contagious thing that you should share, however, is kindness! Nobody gets mad at you for sharing it, it's fun imagining who it will affect next, and the person you give it to is very likely to share it, as well. So smile at a stranger, pay for a cup of coffee for the person in line behind you, or drop a beloved book at the library for their book sale. Sharing a cold never feels this good!

Barn Cats

Barn Cats

Description

We are in need of ranches that are looking for Barn Cats....these cats are not adoptable because many of them are shy or afraid of human contact.

These feral cats make excellent Barn Cats since they require little attention. They simply need a place that is safer than the busy streets that they are being rescued from and in return they will keep the rodent population down at your ranch.

All cats are fixed (spay/neutered) so you don't have to worry about a cat over-population. Call 274-3227
